Get ready for an adventure where we mix classic camp fun with a whole lot of awesome! At Camp Kahuna, your child will enjoy traditional activities like campfires, swimming, cooperative games, and fort-building. But we don’t stop there. Each week is packed with excitement, thanks to our special theme days like Medieval, Wacky Hair, Superhero, and Olympics.

Camp Kahuna (Mt. Nemo Location)

Discover a New Adventure at Camp Kahuna’s Forest Camp

During the summer of 2024, we expanded our legendary camp experience to a second location, Mt. Nemo Scout Camp, just five minutes from our Camp Sidrabene site. While both camps offer unforgettable fun, our new Forest Adventure Camp at Mt. Nemo is designed for campers who want to dive deep into outdoor exploration.

What Makes Mt. Nemo Unique?

Our Mt. Nemo location offers a more intimate setting with a focus on wilderness skills and adventure. Here, campers will:

Become True Explorers: Spend their days hiking miles of scenic trails, fishing, and discovering the secrets of the forest during our popular creek studies.

Master Survival Skills: Learn to build a campfire and cook their own food over an open flame.

Enjoy Intimate Groups: With a smaller number of campers, every child gets a chance to connect with new friends and our dedicated staff.

Cool Off in Nature: While there’s no pool, campers can swim and hunt for creek creatures at our exclusive access point to Bronte Creek.

And don’t worry—we’re bringing the big-ticket fun you love! Each week will feature a major event like bubble soccer, laser tag, or gel-ball. These events are not part of the Sidrabene camp.

Ready for a summer of adventure? Join us at Camp Kahuna’s Forest Adventure Camp and get ready to make memories that will last a lifetime.

Important Details

Before – and After-Care is available on-site from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at both locations.

Photos on this page are from past camps and showcase the types of activities we offer; however, they do not represent our schedule for every year. We are always looking for new and exciting experiences to make each year incredible!

Our goal is simple: to create the best camp possible for your child, filled with amazing memories and new friends.

Safety

We know that sending your child to camp is a big decision, and at the heart of that decision is trust. We want you to feel completely confident in our commitment to their safety. Here’s how we ensure a secure and caring environment for every camper:

Our Unwavering Commitment to Safety

Highly-Trained Team: Our camp directors are on-site all day, every day—a unique feature that allows them to be completely focused on the well-being of our campers. Our senior staff are all 18 or older, and they’ve all passed comprehensive police checks and hold current First Aid/CPR certifications.

Always on Watch: Your child will receive our staff’s full, undivided attention. We have a strict no-electronics policy for staff during program hours. Many of our leaders are teachers or educational assistants, bringing with them a wealth of experience in managing and caring for children.

Poolside Protection: Our certified lifeguards and a team of leaders are always present during water activities, with eyes on campers at all times.

Prepared for Anything: We’re ready for whatever the day brings. Whether it’s a sunny day under our two large canvas tents or a sudden storm that sends us to our safe main building, we’re always prepared.

Daily Health Routine: Staying safe in the sun is key. We have scheduled sunscreen applications and frequent water breaks to keep everyone protected and hydrated.

A Day at Camp: Where Fun and Adventure Await

At our camp, we believe in creating an unforgettable experience for every child. While each week brings a new theme and exciting new adventures, a typical day is packed with activities designed to spark creativity, encourage teamwork, and build lasting friendships.

Here’s a glimpse of what your child can expect:

Morning Kick-Off: The day begins with a hilarious motivational talk from our leadership director, Scott Graham. He gets everyone energized with stories, magic tricks, object lessons, and a few zany challenges to get the day started right.

Special Events and Themes: We love to mix things up! Throughout the week, campers can look forward to special events like our “Wet and Wild Day,” “Camp Game Shows and Challenges,” and visits from amazing guests like Joe-lynn: The World’s Greatest Hypnotist. They’ll also get to make their very own “Chippie the Attack Squirrel” houses and traps, and enjoy a camp carnival complete with cotton candy!

Classic Camp Fun: Every day includes beloved camp traditions such as swimming, fishing, and engaging cooperative games that help campers develop new skills and work together.

Unique Programming: We take pride in offering a program unlike any other, with activities like a full camp-wide version of Minecraft, “Squeegie Man,” and “Man Hunt.”

Growth and Leadership: We also integrate positive experiences that help campers grow, including fun leadership workshops that teach valuable life skills.

We are dedicated to exceeding your expectations and ensuring your child has the best week of their summer. We can’t wait to see them there!

We love creating magical camp adventures for children, bringing the world of Scott Graham’s books to life! Each week features a new theme, and we pack every day with exciting activities inspired by his unique characters and stories.

Here is an example of a typical theme day at camp:

A Day in the Kahuna Fantastical Town of Finkle

Step into the world of Scott Graham’s books, where your child becomes a part of the story! Our theme days bring these adventures to life, and a favourite is our Kahuna Fantastical Town of Finkle Theme Day.

Here’s a glimpse of a typical Finkle-themed day:

8:30 AM: Character Parade Campers arrive dressed as their favorite characters from the Finkle books, from Moo Moo Chickens to Chippie the Attack Squirrel, and even the Green Gorilla.

9:15 AM: Morning Snack A quick snack break to fuel up for the day’s adventures.

9:30 AM: Scott Time Scott Graham himself leads a hilarious and interactive session. He uses stories, magic, and zany challenges to teach leadership concepts in a way that’s unforgettable for every camper.

10:00 AM: Finkle Rotations Campers rotate through exciting Finkle-themed activities, including group games, creek hikes, swimming, campfires, and crafts.

11:00 AM: Finkle Feast Lunchtime! We’ll enjoy a specially themed lunch to keep the Finkle fun going.

11:30 AM: Scott Time: The Adventure Continues Scott returns to lead a hands-on leadership workshop filled with more magic, stories, and a wild activity that will have everyone laughing and learning.

The Finkle Fun Continues!

After a morning of adventures, the excitement doesn’t stop. The afternoon is packed with even more Finkle-themed fun and camp-wide activities.

Noon: Finkle Colour Wars Campers break into teams for a full-camp version of this active and exciting game.

1:15 PM: Cool Down & Explore We’ll cool off with swimming at the pool or a hike at the creek. These rotations are filled with activities that keep the Finkle theme alive, from themed games in the water to a Finkle scavenger hunt along the creek bed.

2:30 PM: Snack Time. Time to refuel with a delicious afternoon snack.

3:00 PM: The Great Joe-Lynn Hypnotist Show. The staff take the stage for a hilarious hypnotist show! Campers get to watch as their leaders are hypnotized and perform wacky, unforgettable stunts.

3:45 PM: See You Tomorrow! We’ll start getting ready for home, sharing stories from the day’s adventures.

4:00 PM: Home

This is just a glimpse into a typical day at camp, but every day is an adventure waiting to happen! We can’t wait to see your child there.

Unique Camp Adventures and Unforgettable Memories

We believe in creating unique and unforgettable experiences for our campers. While we love classic camp fun like Capture the Flag, Survival, and campfires with marshmallows, we also offer unique adventures you won’t find anywhere else, including a full camp-wide version of Minecraft.

When you choose Camp Kahuna, you’re not just choosing a camp—you’re choosing a one-of-a-kind experience. There’s truly no other camp like ours in Halton. From the moment you step onto our property, you’ll feel like you’ve been transported to a Muskoka-like retreat.

We are dedicated to providing the best in both supervision and programming. While you may find a less expensive option, if you’re looking for a camp that prioritizes quality and puts your child’s well-being first, you’ve found the perfect place. We can’t wait to welcome your family to the Camp Kahuna experience!
